Locked In

Ever have a memory that just camps out in your mind rent-free? The kind that instantly transports you back to a time filled with joy, peace, and maybe even a few happy tears?

I had one of those this week.

My daughter competes in dance, the serious, sparkly, “bring-your-own-snacks-and-stamina” kind of dance. Nationals are around the corner, and I watched her and her team rehearse the same routine again and again with such grace and focus, it stopped me in my tracks. I wasn’t just watching a dance—I was watching a moment I’ll never forget.  Generally, I see the performance, but this time it was the grind of practice, ensuring every detail and movement was precise.

In business, it’s easy to get caught up in deadlines, emails, and the next big thing. But if you’re a parent, or honestly just a human trying to do life well, don’t let the hustle make you miss the good stuff. The small stuff. The stuff that becomes the big stuff when you look back.

One day in a studio gave me more than content for my drone and camera roll, it gave me a memory worth holding onto.

Not just a memory. A lasting moment that reminds me to stay, LOCKED IN!
